Covert entwined heart
2006
AN OUTBURST OF
PASSION IN LIMBO
Galleria Klerkx
Milan, Italy

The Covert Entwined Heart is a large sculpture reminiscent of both a DNA double helix and a warm swirling heart. By turn-
ing the mills on the sides, one can activate this sculpture. The heart-shaped object symbolises a moment of passion, the in-between area of falling in love and intuition. The freshly cut palm tree refers to the smell of wildness and hangs upside down in the middle of the heart. For this sculpture Tee was inspired by the book Tropiques Tristes by Lévi-Strauss, which in its essence is a travel book lamenting the tropics, the ‘lost’ New World, Brazil and its native culture.
